Description
St Ignatius’ teaching and spirituality have profoundly affected the Church and by extension the whole world. In his autobiography we get a glimpse into the experiences that moulded St Ignatius and his teaching. With his typical terseness, St Ignatius goes through the incidents of his life that seemed to him the most important in his spiritual journey. The careful reader will catch the subtle, and perhaps unconscious, hints of the transformation and growth of one of the Church’s most loyal sons.
St Ignatius of Loyola (c.1491-1556) was born in the castle of Loyola in Azpeitia, Spain. He wrote his famous Spiritual Exercises before founding the Jesuits.
